The next meeting is on Tuesday, 26th February, 8pm at Federation Estate, Greenwood Avenue.
This being the first get together for the year, we thought it was a good time to recap on the history of another area of Ringwood. Previously we covered the Mechanics Institute/Town Hall progression over the years, then we followed the area from ‘Clocktower to Clocktower”, the seven precincts from Ringwood Street to Warrandyte Road, along Whitehorse Road.
This time, we’re presenting a section of Warrandyte Road, from the top, where the Clocktower was, to Mullum Mullum Creek.
This should be a fascinating trip, taking us past Bamford’s timber yard, the Salvation Army Hall, the bowling club, the old library, the Oddfellows/Masonic halls, Oliver Pratt’s sub-division, the Gospel Hall, the old doctor’s surgery, Conlon’s bakery, Slade’s drinks and much more. Richard Carter and Russ Haines will act as guides.
