The Ringwood Historical Society exists to collect, preserve and promote material relating to the history of Ringwood, Victoria situated in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs.

The Society maintains extensive Archives encompassing newspaper, journals, books, personal histories, maps, plans, photographs and other material and artefacts.

The Archives are located in Warrandyte Road, Ringwood and are open to the public on request, please telephone (03) 9876 4367 for an appointment.

The Society publishes a newsletter and conducts ten meetings eacheach year, on the fourth Tuesday between February and November. Meetings are held from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm on those evenings at the Maroondah Federation Estate (the former Ringwood Primary School) at 32 Greenwood Avenue, Ringwood.

New members or observers are always welcome to attend. The annual membership subscription is $25 adult and concession and $30 family.

The Society offers for sale ($20 each plus postage and handling) the bicentennial history “Ringwood - Place of Many Eagles” by Hugh Anderson, a worthy and detailed 282 page history of Ringwood.
